UPSDM and Ek Step Foundation sign MoU to help with job

search and application via AI voice bot

Lucknow, 22 Oct (HS): Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, technology-based initiatives are being expanded in

Uttar Pradesh to link skill development with employment and increase the

availability of opportunities for youth. In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh

Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) is preparing to expand its 'Blue DotsAI'

platform to all 18 divisions of the state. This will bring together locally

available jobs and skilled youth on a common digital platform, making it easier

for youth to find employment suited to their qualifications and for industries

to find qualified candidates to meet their needs.

Under the direction of Mission Director Pulkit Khare, a

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Thursday between the Uttar

Pradesh Skill Development Mission and the Ek Step Foundation. This initiative,

which has been operational since June, has been formally integrated with the

Mission. This initiative will accelerate efforts to connect skills training

with actual industry demand in the state and make the job search process more

accessible.

'Blue DotsAI' is a digital discovery platform that provides

mapped information about nearby jobs and candidates. During its pilot project

in Ghaziabad, over 25,000 jobs within a 20-25 kilometer radius were made

searchable on the map. Based on this experience, there are plans to expand the

platform to all 18 divisions in the state. Through this platform, youth will be

able to obtain information about the relevant company, the number of vacancies,

starting salaries, overtime, and pick-up and drop-off facilities. Companies

will also be able to search for candidate profiles based on their needs. This

will help establish a direct connection between locally available employment

opportunities and trained youth.

The platform will primarily feature jobs in micro, small,

and medium enterprises (MSMEs), manufacturing, and retail. These will include

sectors such as apparel and food and beverage, as well as technical positions

such as welders, electricians, and machine operators. This is expected to help

meet the human resource needs of local industries and provide youth with

opportunities commensurate with their skills.

The key feature of 'Blue DotsAI' is an AI-based voice bot.

Through this, companies and industry associations will be able to register

their recruitment needs by speaking in Hindi, English, or other regional

languages. This will simplify the process of providing vacancy information on

digital platforms. The AI voice bot will also contact candidates and provide

information about available jobs matching their profiles. With the candidate's

consent, it will also assist in the application process. Emphasis will also be

placed on preparing youth for employment through counseling, mock interviews,

and direct communication with industry associations.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,

emphasis is being placed on connecting youth in the state with skill training,

employment-oriented education, and opportunities to develop skills as per the

needs of industries. 'Blue DotsAI' is a technology-based effort in this

direction, through which the aim is to establish better coordination between

the capabilities of trained youth and the needs of employers. According to

Mission Director Pulkit Khare, the aim is to ensure that youth do not have to

wander unnecessarily in search of employment and they have easy access to

opportunities available at the local level. Work will be done towards making

the job search and recruitment process more effective through facilities like

digital maps, AI voice bot and counseling.
