Amravati, 22 Oct (HS): Followers of social reformer Rashtrasant

Tukadoji Maharaj have started agitation at Gurukunj Mozari in Amravati district

demanding awarding the social reformer with Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian

award in India.

The agitation was launched by burning a torch by Satyapal

Maharaj. He said that Tukadoji Maharaj always promoted social integration and wrote

a song to promote brotherhood irrespective of caste, sects and religion.

Satyapal Maharaj also demanded Rashtrasant title for another social reformer Sant

Gadge Baba, who promoted cleanliness and hygiene. The agitation will continue

up to 26 January 2027. The agitation was launched by reciting mass prayer.
