Aichi-Nagoya, 21 October (H.S.): Indian athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Asian Para Games, sweeping all three medals in the men’s F46 shot put event. Sachin Khilari clinched gold with a Games-record throw of 15.79 metres on his very first attempt, while Mohammed Yasser won silver and Praveen secured bronze.

Khilari demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the competition, recording throws of more than 15 metres in all his attempts. His opening effort of 15.79 metres proved sufficient to secure both the gold medal and a new Asian Para Games record.

Mohammed Yasser registered a distance of 15.06 metres on his third attempt. The effort marked his season’s best performance and earned him the silver medal. Praveen claimed bronze with a throw of 13.83 metres on his second attempt.

India’s clean sweep in the men’s F46 shot put ensured that all three medals—gold, silver and bronze—went to Indian athletes. The achievement further strengthened India’s impressive performance at the ongoing Asian Para Games.
