Lucknow, 21 Oct (HS): On Police Commemoration Day in
Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid respect to slain
police martyrs, declaring that no one is above the law in the state and
emphasizing the transition from disturbance to peace. CM Yogi paid tribute to
policemen who died in the line of duty, saluting their bravery, sacrifice, and
commitment. He claimed that the state has moved on from previous turbulence and
highlighted that the rule of law is supreme in the new Uttar Pradesh. He stated
on platforms such as X that the devotion of the police force serves as an
eternal source of inspiration for the nation.
In a post on X, he mentioned, “On this Police Commemoration
Day, I pay my grateful respects to all those brave police personnel who made
the supreme sacrifice of their lives while protecting the security of the
nation, the peace of society, and the lives of citizens. The valor, courage,
and dedication of those brave police personnel who offered their all on the
altar of duty remain an eternal source of inspiration for us all. Prior to
2017, mafia rule prevailed in the state. At that time, the morale of
anti-social elements was so high that our valiant police officers in Mathura's
Jawahar Bagh had to lay down their lives while upholding the law. Today, in the
new Uttar Pradesh, no one is above the law. Uttar Pradesh has transformed from
a state of unrest to a state of celebration. The police have been granted the
freedom to take effective action against criminals. With over 2.26 lakh police
recruitments, a tenfold increase in training capacity, the commissionerate
system in seven major cities, cyber police stations in every district, and the
establishment of women's help desks in every police station, the police system
has become more capable, modern, and accountable.”
“Action against 88,973 criminals under the Gangster Act and
the seizure of illegal property worth more than Rs. 15,000 crore stand as proof
of our unwavering commitment against crime and criminals. On this occasion
today, our resolve is that, remembering forever the sacrifices of our brave
police personnel and the renunciation of their families, we will continue to
work tirelessly to keep Uttar Pradesh safe, just, and fear-free. Jai Hind,” he
added.
“A humble tribute to the brave police personnel who laid
down their all on the altar of duty on 'Police Commemoration Day'. The valor of
these immortal martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the
motherland and the safety of citizens, is an inexhaustible source of
inspiration for the glorious traditions of the police force and for generations
to come.
Their unwavering devotion to duty will forever illuminate
the path of national service. Jai Hind,” he opined in another post on X.
