Mumbai, 21 October (H.S.): Priyanka Chopra will no longer feature in the upcoming film starring actor Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Ritesh Batra. According to reports, Priyanka had been cast as the female lead in the untitled period drama but has withdrawn from the project due to her packed professional schedule. Her exit may disappoint fans who had been looking forward to seeing Saif and Priyanka share the screen for the first time. The film is reportedly scheduled to begin shooting on October 21 at a museum in Mumbai’s Byculla area.

According to reports, Priyanka was expected to participate in the Mumbai shooting schedule. However, her existing professional commitments made it difficult to coordinate the filming dates. A source said that the actress was keen to work with Saif and Ritesh Batra. Although the producers attempted to adjust the schedule to accommodate her availability, their efforts were unsuccessful. Priyanka was subsequently compelled to withdraw from the film.

Following her exit, the producers have begun exploring options to cast another actress in her place. According to reports, discussions are underway with two prominent actresses for the role, and a final decision is expected soon.

Meanwhile, director Ritesh Batra is proceeding with the film’s shoot alongside Saif Ali Khan. During the initial phase, Saif will film his portions of the project. However, an official announcement regarding the new female lead and other details of the film is still awaited.
