Bhubaneswar, 21 October (H.S.): Odisha Leader of Opposition and BJD president Naveen Patnaik has called for an urgent review of the judicial custody of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, demanding their immediate release.

In a social media post, Patnaik said that hoisting the National Flag, even in a prohibited area, should not warrant such prolonged detention.

He urged the judiciary and the executive to take appropriate steps to ensure that the youth of the country do not lose faith in the rule of law and constitutional rights.

Emphasising the importance of constitutional safeguards, Patnaik said the matter required urgent attention to uphold public confidence in the justice system.
