Guwahati, 21 October (HS): Dispur Police have arrested a man following the suspicious death of a young woman whose body was recovered from a rented flat in the city’s Hengrabari area.

According to police sources, the body of Doli Kashyap, a resident of Sualkuchi who worked for an insurance company in Guwahati, was recovered from a rented accommodation at Neha Apartment. A suicide note was reportedly found near the body, in which she held Biswanath Das responsible for her death and alleged that he had ended their romantic relationship.

Das, a native of West Bengal, is reportedly a former Northeast manager of ICICI insurance company. Police have arrested him in connection with the incident and are questioning him as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to the deceased’s sister, Doli had called her family on Saturday and was expected to return home on Sunday. However, she did not arrive. The family repeatedly tried to contact her over the phone but received no response. When she remained unreachable on Monday, her relatives became concerned, leading to the discovery of the incident.

Police have registered a case and are conducting a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.-----------
