Lucknow, 21 Oct (HS): Akhilesh Yadav will visit former

minister Azam Khan in Rampur on October 22. He will meet him in jail. During

this meeting, the two will discuss the assembly elections and the political

situation in the state. It should be noted that Akhilesh had previously met

Azam in Rampur in October last year. He demanded the release of Azam Khan, his

son, and Tauqeer Raza.

Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, is visiting

Rampur jail to meet with Azam Khan and his family. The visit came after AIMIM

chairman Asaduddin Owaisi held a rally in Rampur, criticizing Akhilesh Yadav

for allegedly neglecting Azam Khan. AIMIM leader Shadab Chauhan remarked that

Asaduddin Owaisi's demonstration and speech in Rampur placed political pressure

on Akhilesh Yadav to resolve Azam Khan's condition.

BJP officials slammed the visit, claiming that it sends a message that Akhilesh

Yadav supports criminals. Om Prakash Rajbhar, chief of the Suheldev Bharatiya

Samaj Party, characterized the proposed meeting as a political ploy aimed at

capturing the Muslim vote ahead of the 2027 elections.

Owaisi, who recently visited Rampur, raised the issue of the

release of SP leader Azam Khan, his son Abdullah Azam, and Maulana Tauqeer

Raza. He appealed to the court to release all three of them soon. Owaisi

highlighted this issue in his address from the public meeting, demanding their

release.
