New Delhi, 20 October (H.S.): Hockey India has announced free entry for spectators at the Men’s Hero Asian Champions Trophy Punjab 2026. The ninth edition of the tournament will be held from October 27 to November 5 in Jalandhar and Mohali, marking the return of international hockey to Punjab.
The matches will be played at the Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar and the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in Mohali. A total of 20 matches will be staged across the two venues. All league-stage matches will take place in Jalandhar from October 27 to November 2, while the semifinals and medal matches are scheduled to be held in Mohali on November 4 and 5.

Hockey India President Dr Dilip Tirkey said the decision to offer free entry was aimed at encouraging more spectators to attend the matches and experience the excitement of top-level international hockey.
Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh expressed hope that both venues would witness strong spectator turnout. He said hockey holds a special place in Punjab and that the organisation wanted families, young players and hockey enthusiasts to experience the competition among Asia’s leading teams. Offering free entry, he added, was a step towards achieving that objective.
India will begin its campaign against Bangladesh on October 27. The team will then face China on October 29, Japan on October 30, Malaysia on November 1 and South Korea on November 2.
