Nagpur, 20 Oct (HS): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarasnghchalak Mohan Bhagwat gave a clear warning that the

agitation for raising social issues should not be a tool for settling political

rivalry. If the protest is driven by a feeling of enmity towards an individual,

group or idea, it will lead to misguiding the society and will create rift in

different socio-political groups. He urged the protesters, the administration

and political leaders to ensure that their actions do not create hatred,

bitterness and division in the society.

Dr Bhagwat was speaking at the Vijayadashami and Shastra Puja

celebrations held at the Reshimbagh Ground in Nagpur to mark the completion of

the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It is natural to have

problems in society and flaws in the system. It can give rise to agitations;

however, even if there is an outburst of emotions, the action in the agitation

must remain within the framework of the Constitution and the law. He explained

that it is necessary to observe the limits of civility in speaking, behaving

and dealing with each other. Bhagwat also commented on the role of the

movement, saying that conscience and goodwill should not be sacrificed for the

sake of political advantage, and cheap popularity,

The protesters should understand their responsibility towards the

society. They should not underestimate or defame the nation. All the problems

of the society cannot be solved by the government alone or only through

agitations. Many issues can also be resolved through active community

involvement and interaction. Instead of increasing suspicion and bitterness

towards each other in the society, there is a need to resolve issues through

dialogue. The tendencies to provoke conflicts over small incidents should be

avoided.

Drug Menace: Bhagwat also expressed concern over the growing problem of

narcotic drug addiction in the society. Noting that the younger generation, in

particular, is falling prey to drugs. Government, administration and society

need to work together to overcome this crisis by inculcating moral values and

good conscience in the new generation.

Centenary of RSS: Referring to the activities undertaken to mark the

centenary year of the RSS, he reiterated the concept through Panch Parivartan -

social harmony, family enlightenment, environmental protection, self-awareness

and Swadeshi and civic duty. This is not just a year-long campaign but a code

of conduct to be followed in day-to-day life for ethical discipline and

prudence in the adoption of science, technology, and artificial intelligence,

and to ensure that technology is not used to spread misinformation or mislead

the public. Praising the work of Sant Ravidas on this occasion, Bhagwat noted

that during foreign invasions, Sant Ravidas kept alive the message of piety,

social harmony and devotion. He expressed the feeling that he had restored the

sagging morale of the people while providing relief to the terror-stricken

community.

Senior editor Sanjay Gupta attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Also present were Deepak Tamshettiwar, Vidarbha Pradesh Sangha President,

Shridhar Gadge, Vidarbha Pradesh Joint Sangha President, and Rajesh Loya,

Nagpur Metropolitan Sangha President along with Jagdeep Dhankhar, former Vice

President and Yaniv Revach, Consul General of Israel to Midwest India. Maharashtra

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Revenue

Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Rashtra Sevika Samiti Chief Director
