New Delhi, 20 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday extended their greetings and best wishes to all volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the occasion of the organisation’s Foundation Day.

In a message posted on X, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to all those who had nurtured and strengthened the organisation through their tireless efforts and spirit of service. He said the RSS had completed a landmark century dedicated to service, nation-building and social commitment.

“Countless volunteers have consistently worked for the upliftment of society through their dedication, sense of duty and spirit of putting the nation first,” Modi said, expressing confidence that this commitment would continue to make the country stronger and more resilient in the years ahead.

The Prime Minister also described RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s address at the organisation’s centenary-year Vijayadashami celebration in Nagpur as inspiring. He said Bhagwat had discussed several important issues in detail, including national progress, social unity, the need for self-reliance and the strengthening of society’s moral character.

Modi particularly highlighted Bhagwat’s emphasis on the commitment to “seva” (service) and nation-building, which he described as integral to the life of every RSS volunteer. He also noted the discussion on *Panch Parivartan* (five transformations) and how these initiatives could make a meaningful contribution towards bringing about positive social change.

Amit Shah said the RSS was engaged in the significant task of nurturing the roots of Indian culture, kindling the spirit of patriotism in society and connecting young people with nation-building.

He said the service initiatives undertaken by RSS volunteers across the country were continually strengthening the resolve to build a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India. Shah expressed confidence that this enduring tradition of service, values and patriotism would keep the flame of love for the motherland burning in the hearts of future generations for centuries to come.

The RSS celebrated its 101st Foundation Day on Monday, coinciding with Vijayadashami, at Reshimbagh ground in Nagpur. On the occasion, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat performed the traditional *Shastra Puja*, or worship of weapons and shields.

The programme also featured a floral tribute to Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS. Former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and several other distinguished guests attended the event and appreciated the volunteers’ spirit of service to the nation.
