Mumbai, 20 October (H.S.): Preparations are underway for the fourth instalment of Bollywood’s popular ‘Jolly LLB’ film franchise. This time, the makers are reportedly planning to take the story back in time with a prequel rather than continue the narrative of the previous films. Actor Arshad Warsi will once again reprise his role as lawyer Jagdish Tyagi, popularly known as Jolly.
According to reports, the film is currently in the final stages of pre-production, with shooting scheduled to be completed by January 2027. Umesh Shukla has been entrusted with directing the project.
The film’s title has not yet been finalised, the report said. A source revealed that the upcoming project would be a prequel rather than a direct continuation of the earlier films. It is expected to present the story of Warsi’s popular character, Jolly, from a fresh perspective. However, detailed information about the plot and the rest of the cast has not yet been disclosed.
The ‘Jolly LLB’ franchise began in 2013, with Arshad Warsi portraying lawyer Jagdish Tyagi in the first instalment. In the second film, Akshay Kumar took on the role of Jagdishwar Mishra, also known as Jolly, while Huma Qureshi was also part of the cast.
Released in 2025, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ brought Warsi and Akshay Kumar together on screen. With Warsi set to return for the fourth instalment, fans can look forward to seeing his much-loved courtroom persona once again.
