Bengaluru, 20 Oct (H.S.):

An artificially manipulated video depicting a bomb explosion at Karnataka’s Vidhana Soudha has triggered outrage on social media, with users demanding legal action against the person who posted it on Instagram.

The video, uploaded through an account named “Jnx king Hg”, shows a man standing outside the landmark building in Bengaluru. The footage was edited using artificial intelligence to create the appearance of an explosion at the seat of the state legislature.

A caption accompanying the post claimed that Vidhana Soudha had been blown up with a bomb. The supplied account describes the footage as an AI-generated manipulation, rather than a recording of an actual explosion.

The clip drew angry reactions from social media users, who objected to the portrayal of an attack on one of Karnataka’s most prominent public institutions. Several demanded stringent action against the uploader for circulating the video and presenting the fabricated scene with an alarming claim.

According to the account of the incident, the man first recorded himself standing in front of Vidhana Soudha before digitally altering the footage to simulate a bomb blast. He then shared the edited video on Instagram.

Those criticising the post called for authorities to identify the person responsible and examine the threatening portrayal of the building. Their objections centred on the use of manipulated visuals to depict destruction at the state’s legislative headquarters.

However, the information available does not establish the uploader’s identity, his motive or whether the Instagram account belongs to him.

There was also no information in the supplied account confirming a police complaint, registration of a case or any subsequent action by authorities.

The incident has drawn attention to how AI-generated imagery can be used to manufacture alarming scenes involving public landmarks, particularly when captions present digitally fabricated events as though they have actually taken place.
