New Delhi, 02 October (H.S.): On the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin paid respectful tribute to both leaders. In a post on social media, he recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence, Swadeshi, self-reliance and cleanliness, saying that his principles continue to inspire society and the nation.

Nitin Nabin said Mahatma Gandhi, by making truth and non-violence the foundation of his life, awakened the spirit of freedom among the people of India. He said Gandhi’s ideas of Swadeshi and self-reliance strengthened the concept of a self-sufficient society. He also noted that Gandhi’s emphasis on cleanliness continues to inspire people to maintain cleanliness in their personal lives and surroundings.

He said Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas would continue to inspire future generations to discharge their responsibilities towards the nation and society with dedication.

On the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, Nitin Nabin described the former Prime Minister as an embodiment of unwavering commitment to the nation and a simple way of life. He said Shastri set a new example of service and duty in public life through his conduct and leadership.

The BJP president referred to Lal Bahadur Shastri’s famous slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” and said that the message continues to reinforce the country’s commitment to national security and respect for farmers. He said Shastri’s life would continue to inspire people to uphold a strong sense of duty and place the national interest above all else.
