Hindi Maah-2026 Concludes at Central University of Odisha


Bhubaneswar, 02 October (H.S.): The Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput, concluded its Hindi Maah-2026 celebrations and Hindi Workshop-2026 with a renewed commitment to promoting the wider use of Hindi in daily communication and official work.

The concluding programme was organised jointly by the Official Language Section and the Department of Hindi, CUO. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kumar Shasany emphasised the importance of encouraging greater use of Hindi in everyday communication and official functioning. He urged members of the University community to take an active interest in learning Hindi and incorporating it into their routine work.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Dinesh Pal Singh, Commandant, BSF, Koraput, highlighted the constitutional status of Hindi, its rich literary heritage and its growing significance in official communication. He also underlined the simplicity, accessibility and practical utility of the language.

As part of the Hindi Maah celebrations, the University organised a series of competitions for students and children of faculty members, including poetry recitation, essay writing and speech competitions. The winners were felicitated with certificates, mementos and prizes during the concluding ceremony.

The programme also included the Hindi Workshop-2026, which focused on strengthening awareness about the use of Hindi and promoting its effective application in official and academic settings. The workshop also highlighted the importance of adopting Hindi as a practical medium of communication in the day-to-day functioning of the University.
