Hooghly, 02 October (H.S.): A ‘Sanatan Dharma Pratyavartan’, or ‘Ghar Wapsi’ programme, was organised in Khanyan in Hooghly district on Friday with the participation of a large number of local residents and devotees.

The religious and social programme was organised by ‘Kalyanam’, the spiritual wing of the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Seva Samiti, with overall arrangements by the Anandamath Foundation.

Prominent Vaishnavacharya and Bhagavata Katha speaker Hiranmoy Goswami Maharaj attended the programme as the chief guest and key speaker. A large number of devotees and local residents gathered at the venue to listen to his spiritual address.

According to the organisers, the main objective of the programme was to facilitate the return of people who, for various reasons, had moved away from Sanatan Dharma, allowing them to return to their faith while following Vedic rituals and traditions.

Welcoming those who returned to Sanatan Dharma, Hiranmoy Goswami Maharaj said, “Sanatan Dharma is the path of ultimate truth and unity.” He described the initiative of welcoming people back to their faith with dignity as a positive effort.

Representatives of Kalyanam and the Anandamath Foundation said that the programme had been planned with a focus on maintaining social equality and promoting the social ideals associated with Dr B.R. Ambedkar.

The organisers said they would continue conducting similar social and religious awareness programmes in the future.

The event generated considerable enthusiasm in the Khanyan area, with a large number of local residents and devotees attending the programme.
