
Prayagraj, 2 Oct (HS): The City Congress Committee members
paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, on his 157th birth
anniversary. In the morning, the Congress men led by City Congress President
Fuzail Hashmi, garlanded Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Balson Crossing and called
upon people to follow his principles of truth and non-violence.
The speakers said that Mahatma Gandhi’s dedicated life and
vision as a true representative of the people continue to inspire generations.
They said that Gandhi instilled the values of tolerance, compassion and
humanity among Indians. His policies and principles remain relevant and are
needed in the country even today. The Congress leaders also recalled Mahatma
Gandhi’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle under his leadership and
pledged to follow the path shown by him.
