Gold Prices Fall on Gandhi Jayanti; Silver Also Witnesses Sharp Decline

New Delhi, 02 October (H.S.): Gold prices witnessed a downward trend in early trade in the bullion market on Friday, October 2, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Following the decline in prices, gold became cheaper by Rs 320 to Rs 350 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Silver also recorded a sharp decline of Rs 12,900 per kilogram today.

Following the fall in prices, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,230 to Rs 1,49,380 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of Rs 1,36,790 to Rs 1,36,940 per 10 grams. Silver, meanwhile, declined sharply and was trading at Rs 2,27,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,380 per 10 grams, while the price of 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,36,940 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,230 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,36,790 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold was recorded at Rs 1,49,280 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,36,840 per 10 grams.

In Chennai, 24-carat gold was being sold at Rs 1,49,230 and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,36,790 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,230 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,36,790 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, the price of 24-carat gold was Rs 1,49,280 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,36,840 per 10 grams.

In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,380 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,36,940 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,49,280 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,36,840 per 10 grams. In the Lucknow bullion market, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,380 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,36,940 per 10 grams.

Like other states across the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha also witnessed weakness in gold prices during early trade today. In the capitals of these three states — Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar — 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,49,230 per 10 grams. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold at Rs 1,36,790 per 10 grams in the bullion markets of all three cities.
