Lucknow, 19 Oct (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath has addressed a letter (Pati) to the state's citizens extending his
best wishes on the occasion of Mahanavami and Vijayadashami of Sharadiya
Navratri. The Chief Minister stated in his letter that Mother Durga's bravery
and Lord Shri Ram's life motivate us to combat injustice, respect women, and
carry out our duty. On the auspicious day of Mahanavami, CM Yogi did Kanya
Pujan at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, praying for the prosperity of the
people. He proposed burning Ravana, the symbol of arrogance, injustice, and
negativity, on Vijayadashami and erecting dwellings for the needy on mafia-free
grounds (such as Kasari Masari/Krishna Puri region of Prayagraj).
Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, advised residents
to band together to break free from notable societal problems such as
alcoholism, family strife, caste-based prejudice, and dowry. He made this call
on Vijayadashami, making a link between the symbolic burning of the Ravan
effigy, which represents ego, injustice, prejudice, and negativity, and the
elimination of society concerns. The Chief Minister believes that creating a
safe, progressive, and peaceful society necessitates a collaborative community
effort to eliminate these bad habits.
Post penned by him on X, reads as follows: “My esteemed
fellow citizens of the state, Heartfelt congratulations on the great ninth day
of Sharadiya Navratri and infinite best wishes for Vijayadashami. The mighty
valor of Mother Durga and the righteous life of Lord Shri Ram inspire us to
counter injustice, honor women, and fulfill our duties. In keeping with the
ideals of the exemplary man Lord Shri Ram, our government has accorded the
highest priority to the rule of law and the safety of citizens in the state.
Land freed from mafia control has been used to build homes for the poor. I am
pleased that, as part of this effort, homes for the poor will be constructed on
land in Kasari-Masari, Prayagraj, that has been liberated from mafia
possession. This area will be developed as 'Shri Krishna Puri. I make a special
request to you all: on this Vijayadashami, along with the burning of
Ravana—symbolizing ego, injustice, discrimination, and negativity—also resolve
to break free from social evils such as addiction to intoxicants, family
discord, caste-based discrimination, and the dowry system.”
