Lucknow, 19 Oct (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister
Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday targeted Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh
Yadav, accusing him of doing politics in the name of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao
Ambedkar and misleading the people in the name of PDA (Backward, Dalit,
Minority). Speaking to reporters in Lucknow before leaving for Fatehpur,
Maurya, referring to SP leader Azam Khan, accused him of making derogatory
remarks against Baba Saheb. He also took a dig at the SP leadership regarding
Shivpal Singh Yadav and claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form
the government with a thumping majority for the third consecutive time in the
2027 assembly elections.
Maurya said that Akhilesh Yadav should answer for his
party's past decisions before playing politics in the name of Baba Saheb Dr.
Bhimrao Ambedkar. He alleged that during the SP government, a plaque bearing
Ambedkar's name was removed and the medical college named after him was
renamed. He also accused then-minister Azam Khan of making derogatory remarks
against Baba Saheb.
The Deputy Chief Minister accused the Samajwadi Party of
protecting criminals, mafias, rioters, and the corrupt, saying that the people
of the state remember the Samajwadi Party's rule. He claimed that under the BJP
government, Uttar Pradesh has progressed on the path of law and order and
development, while the return of the Samajwadi Party threatens to revive an
atmosphere of anarchy in the state.
Maurya, taking a dig at the SP's electoral prospects, said
that the party's seat is vacant and its EVMs will also be empty at the time of
voting. He said that if the criminals and mafias groomed during the SP regime
had been given employment, the public's perception of the party might have been
different.
Attacking the Congress party, Maurya said that the party is
in league with the country's enemies, while the Samajwadi Party is in league
with the state's enemies. He alleged that the public has rejected these
parties, so they are raising the issue of vote theft. Maurya said that the BJP
government will continue to pursue the development agenda until the goals of a
developed India and a developed Uttar Pradesh are achieved.
