Lucknow, 19 Oct (HS): Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad
Maurya directed officials to ensure effective action to ensure that the
benefits of the central and state government's public welfare schemes reach
eligible individuals. He said that based on the applications received during
Janta Darshan, the concerned departments should link people to schemes
according to their eligibility, so that the needy do not have to wander
unnecessarily for government assistance.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that legal action should be
taken in cases of providing housing to eligible families under the Pradhan
Mantri Awas Yojana and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin. Eligible cases related
to old-age pension, destitute women's pension, and disabled pension should be
resolved on priority. The concerned departments should take immediate action on
complaints related to basic amenities like drinking water, electricity, and
roads. Eligible cases for financial assistance from the Chief Minister's
Discretionary Fund for the treatment of needy people suffering from serious illnesses
should also be processed expeditiously under the prescribed procedure.
Emphasizing the economic empowerment of youth, he said that
coordination should be established between banks and related departments to
provide eligible youth with opportunities to establish enterprises through the
Chief Minister's Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign. Action should be
taken to provide assistance to eligible applicants under the Prime Minister's
Employment Generation Program and the Prime Minister's Micro Food Industry
Upgradation Scheme (PMFME) as per the rules for self-employment and setting up
food processing units. Information about the provisions applicable under the
Uttar Pradesh Food Processing Industry Policy 2023 should also be made
available to the concerned entrepreneurs.
Addressing student concerns, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav
Prasad Maurya said that eligible students should receive scholarship benefits
in a timely manner. Special attention should be paid to providing livelihood
opportunities to women through the National Rural Livelihood Mission and
self-help groups. This will enable women to contribute to increasing their
family income by engaging in self-employment activities.
Maurya told officials that the benefits of government
schemes should not be limited to paperwork, but should reach eligible
beneficiaries. The concerned department should act on every application
received during Janta Darshan, in accordance with eligibility and regulations.
He gave clear instructions that there should be no unnecessary delay in resolving
public problems and that the benefits of the double-engine government's schemes
should be ensured to reach the lowest rung of society.
