Gorakhpur, 19 Oct (HS): Chief Minister and

Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath, who has immense respect for the mother

power and has taken forward many programs including Mission Shakti for their

safety, respect and self-reliance, once again strengthened the feeling of

respect for women power on Monday. Chief Minister Yogi performed Kanya Pujan as

per the tradition of Gorakshapeeth on Mahanavami date of Sharadiya Navratri. In

the Kanya Pujan ritual organized in Gorakhnath temple, Gorakshapeethadhiswar

washed the feet of nine Durga Swaroopa virgin girls, worshipped them as per the

rituals, covered them with chunari, performed aarti, fed them with devotion,

took their blessings by giving dakshina and gifts. Following the tradition, the

Chief Minister also performed Batuk Pujan.

On Monday, Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath

washed the feet of nine little girls one by one with water in a brass plate in

the dining room on the first floor of the Anna Kshetra of Gorakhnath Temple

amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. Amidst the echo of mantras from Shri Durga

Saptashati, he applied tilak of roli, sandalwood, curd, Akshat etc. on their

foreheads. He anointed them with flowers and barley sprouts grown on the altar

of Shaktipeeth. He took blessings by garlanding them, covering them with a

scarf, giving them gifts and Dakshina.

After the puja, Chief Minister Yogi personally served fresh

food Prasad cooked in the temple kitchen to the girls and boys. Apart from the

nine girls, the Chief Minister also worshipped and performed Aarti for a large

number of girls and boys who had come. Arrangements for Kanya Bhoj were made on

the first floor as well as the ground floor of the Anna Kshetra. All the girls

and boys were fed with devotion in the Bhoj and were given gifts and Dakshina.

The eagerness of the girls and boys was worth seeing: The

eagerness of the little girls and boys to receive the love and affection of

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was worth seeing. With a feeling of respect and

affection, the Chief Minister washed the feet of nine girls and Batuk Bhairav

one by one and worshipped them. During this, the girls looked very happy on

receiving Dakshina from Yogi. After the worship, while serving food to the

girls and boys with his own hands, Chief Minister Yogi also kept on having

cordial conversation. He also kept on taking care that there should not be any

shortage of Prasad in the plate of any boy or girl. Regarding this, he kept on

instructing the people associated with the management of the temple.

“On the auspicious occasion of Maha Navami of the sacred

Shardiya Navratri, today at

@GorakhnathMndr, we were blessed with the supreme fortune of

worshipping the power-incarnate Kanyas. May the blessings of the universal

mother, Maa Durga, remain upon all the residents of the state; may peace,

prosperity, and well-being dwell in every home and courtyard—this is the

prayer. Jai Mata Ki,” mentioned UP CM in a post on X.
