Guwahati, 19 October (HS): A Kanya Pujan ceremony was organised at the 1st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Sonapur on Monday to mark the auspicious occasion of Navratri.

The programme was held under the guidance of Battalion Commandant Sunil Kaushik and the leadership and supervision of Vaishali Kaushik, President of Sandiksha.

The ceremony was conducted with religious devotion, highlighting the significance of Indian cultural traditions and the importance of respecting women and feminine power. As part of the ritual, young girls were worshipped as symbolic representations of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Food and prasad were offered to them, while prayers were performed for their happiness, prosperity, well-being and bright future.

Members of Sandiksha and other members of the battalion family participated enthusiastically in the event. The ceremony fostered an atmosphere of religious faith, cultural harmony and mutual goodwill within the battalion campus.

The 1st Battalion SSB, Sonapur, continues to organise such programmes to preserve India's rich cultural heritage, promote traditional values and strengthen social harmony.--------------
