Guwahati, 19 October (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday and conveyed his greetings on the occasions of Durga Puja and Dussehra.

During the meeting, Acharya shared his experiences from his recent visit to Mongolia and briefed the Prime Minister on key initiatives undertaken by Lok Bhawan, Assam, to promote youth welfare, strengthen national consciousness and instil patriotism among the younger generation.

The Governor highlighted two initiatives — ‘Nashamukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Namo Matribhoomi Suraksha avam Swavalamban Sankalp Saptah’.

He said the initiatives focus on empowering young people, creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging a stronger sense of responsibility towards national security, self-reliance and nation-building.

Acharya also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his guidance and the valuable interaction during the meeting.-----------
