Imphal, 18 October (HS): Manipur Police, in a joint operation with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), arrested two persons, including a woman and seized 804 grams of suspected brown sugar in Senapati district. A Scorpio vehicle was also confiscated during the operation, police said.

According to a post shared by Manipur Police on social media, the operation was conducted following specific intelligence inputs. Teams from Senapati district police and CRPF units 142/F and 109/B jointly carried out a search operation at Khongnem Thana village under Senapati police station.

During the operation, the security personnel arrested two persons identified as Tarsus (31) and Sarah (40). Both are residents of Lai village under Tungjoy police station in Senapati district.

Police recovered 804 grams of suspected brown sugar concealed in 45 plastic soap cases from their possession. A Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number NL-01H-6982 was also seized.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the suspected contraband and establish other details related to the case, police said.------------
