Mumbai, 18 October (H.S.): The release date of actor Prabhas’s much-anticipated film ‘Spirit’ has been revised, with the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial now scheduled to hit theatres on October 29, 2027. The film stars Prabhas alongside Triptii Dimri in the lead role.
The film was initially slated for release on March 5, 2027. The revised schedule pushes its theatrical release back by nearly eight months, extending the wait for fans eager to see Prabhas and Vanga collaborate for the first time.
With the new release date, the possibility of a major box-office clash during the Diwali season in 2027 has increased. Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana: Part 2’ is also expected to arrive in theatres around Diwali that year. If both films retain their current release plans, they could compete for audience attention during one of the busiest periods for the Indian film industry. However, further changes to either film’s release schedule cannot be ruled out.
Meanwhile, on October 18, Vanga offered fans a glimpse of Prabhas’s new look from ‘Spirit’, generating renewed excitement around the project. The first-time collaboration between the actor and the director has already attracted considerable interest among cinema enthusiasts.
Vanga has previously directed films such as ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Animal’, earning recognition for his distinctive filmmaking style. Expectations are therefore high for his upcoming project with Prabhas, which is among the most anticipated releases on the 2027 film calendar.
