Tiger Shroff Escapes Mumbai Firing, Driver and Bystander Injured

Mumbai, 18 October (H.S.): Three unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants fired seven rounds at a car carrying Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area around 7 pm on Sunday, injuring his driver and a bystander. Shroff escaped unhurt.

The actor had attended a birthday celebration at Pushpa Park, also known as Jamnabai Nursery, and was preparing to leave when the firing occurred. The assailants, dressed in white shirts, fled towards SV Road and Vile Parle railway station.

Shroff's driver, Firdosh, sustained a bullet injury to his left hand and was taken to Nanavati Hospital. Yogesh Chavan, 28, who was standing nearby to catch a glimpse of the actor, was also hit by a bullet and admitted to Cooper Hospital. Police initially reported that Shroff had suffered minor abrasions from shattered glass, but a senior police officer later confirmed that the actor was not injured.

Fifteen teams have been formed to trace the assailants. Juhu police and Mumbai Crime Branch personnel are examining CCTV footage to identify the attackers and establish their escape route. Police are also registering an FIR and seeking details from Shroff about any recent threat calls or warnings.

Police are verifying a social media post purportedly issued by Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claiming responsibility for the attack. The post alleged that Shroff was targeted because of his association with actor Salman Khan and threatened others in the film industry who had worked with Khan. Police have not authenticated the claim or confirmed any alleged links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked the Mumbai Police Commissioner to ensure a swift investigation and strict action against those responsible.

Further details are awaited.
