New Delhi, 18 October (H.S.): Gold and silver prices recorded modest gains in early trade on Sunday in the domestic bullion market, recovering slightly after a week of declines driven by weakness in international markets.

Following the latest price movements, gold became costlier by Rs 210 to Rs 230 per 10 grams, while silver registered a marginal increase of up to Rs 100 per kilogram in early trading.

After the rise, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,47,660 and Rs 1,47,810 per 10 grams across most major bullion markets in the country. The price of 22-carat gold ranged from Rs 1,35,350 to Rs 1,35,500 per 10 grams. In Delhi, silver was quoted at Rs 2,30,000 per kilogram.

Despite the modest recovery, both precious metals recorded significant losses over the past week amid declining international prices. The price of 24-carat gold fell by as much as Rs 3,760 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold declined by up to Rs 3,450 per 10 grams. Silver also remained under pressure throughout the week, losing as much as Rs 10,000 per kilogram.

In Delhi, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,47,810 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,35,500 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the corresponding prices were Rs 1,47,660 and Rs 1,35,350 per 10 grams, respectively.

In Ahmedabad, 24-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,47,710 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,35,400 per 10 grams.

In Chennai and Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,47,660 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,35,350 per 10 grams in both cities.

In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,47,710 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,35,400 per 10 grams. Jaipur and Lucknow recorded prices of Rs 1,47,810 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and Rs 1,35,500 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold.

In Patna, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,47,710 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,35,400 per 10 grams.

Similar price levels were reported in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar, where 24-carat gold was quoted at Rs 1,47,660 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,35,350 per 10 grams.

The marginal gains in the domestic bullion market offered some relief after the previous week’s decline. However, the substantial weekly losses in both gold and silver indicated that the broader weakness in international markets continued to weigh on precious-metal prices.
