Guwahati, 18 October (HS): Artist Neelim Mahanta was detained by Dispur Police on charges of allegedly damaging public property, according to preliminary information.

Police also detained Shyam Kumar, a native of Kerala, in connection with the incident. The circumstances leading to their detention and the specific nature of the alleged damage were not immediately available.

Dispur Police have reportedly seized Mahanta’s vehicle along with various materials used for painting. The seized items are expected to be examined as part of the investigation.
