Prayagraj, 18 Oct (HS): At the Durga Puja pandal in GTB
Nagar (Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar) in Kareli, former Mayor of Prayagraj, Abhilasha
Gupta Nandi, was given a grand welcome and felicitation by committee members,
presenting her with a bouquet. Afterward, she lit a lamp, worshipped Goddess
Bhagwati, and prayed for everyone's happiness and prosperity.
Speaking on the occasion, former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta Nandi
praised the pandal's unique theme, saying that the pandal has been decorated to
reflect the culture of bygone eras, antiques that are vanishing, and
traditional lifestyles. Its primary purpose is to introduce the new generation
to the objects, lifestyle, and traditions of the past.
She said that in this era of modernity, it is essential to
preserve our cultural heritage and ancient traditions. Such events not only
revive our old memories but also introduce future generations to the importance
of our culture and traditions. This is a commendable effort towards preserving
vanishing ancient objects and traditions.
