Hyderabad, 17 October (H.S.): Job aspirants staged a protest outside the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) office at Nampally on Saturday, demanding a change in examination dates after two recruitment tests were scheduled on November 6.

A large number of candidates gathered outside the commission's office and raised slogans over the clash, following which police were deployed at the site.

The TGPSC examination for Assistant Executive Engineers (Civil) in the Roads and Buildings Department and the central-level Junior Engineer examination are both scheduled for November 6. Candidates said the clash would prevent them from appearing for both examinations.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders supported the aspirants and urged the Congress government to intervene and reschedule the examinations. BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan Kumar had raised the issue on October 16, saying the overlapping dates had caused concern among civil engineering aspirants who had prepared for the examinations for years.

BRS leaders R.S. Praveen Kumar and Manne Krishank also called on the state government to revise the schedule. Krishank questioned how candidates could appear for both examinations on the same date and urged the government to ensure an appropriate examination calendar.
