Mumbai, 17 Oct (HS): Film actor Ajay Devgn's
bungalow in Mumbai's Juhu has been raided due to ‘illegal construction’. The
BMC has demolished parts of the bungalow for allegedly carrying out interior
alterations, partition walls, window changes and other structural work without
the requisite permissions.
The action comes days after a stop-work notice was
issued for unauthorised construction. The 7,802 sq ft bungalow is
located in Juhu's Kapole Co-operative Housing Society. According to the
information received from the Municipal Corporation, interior changes,
partition walls, window changes and other structural works were being carried
out in the bungalow without the necessary municipal permissions. The BMC had
issued a formal notice under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation
Act on September 10, directing to stop the work immediately and submit valid
documents. However, despite receiving the notice, the construction work
continued. Municipal officials reached the spot and demolished the illegal
parts of the structure.
