J.P. Nadda Visits Apollo Hospital to Enquire About L.K. Advani’s Health; Condition Stable

New Delhi, 17 October (H.S.): Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda visited Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Saturday to enquire about the health of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani. Nadda also spoke to the doctors treating Advani to obtain an update on his condition, which remains stable.

A public relations official at Apollo Hospital confirmed that Health Minister Nadda had visited the facility. The official said that after meeting Advani, Nadda also met the doctors attending to him and sought information about his health.

Advani was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi on Friday evening after complaining of a chest infection. According to the hospital, he is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) under the supervision of Dr. Vineet Suri, senior consultant in the Department of Neurology.

In a health bulletin issued by the hospital, the medical team stated that Advani’s condition was currently stable and that doctors were continuing to monitor him closely. He was brought to the hospital at around 7.30 p.m. on Friday.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also met the 98-year-old leader at his residence in New Delhi a few days earlier. During the meeting on October 7, the Prime Minister sought Advani’s blessings as he marked 25 years in public life.
