Thiruvananthapuram, 16 Oct (H.S.): A couple from Kerala were found dead in their apartment in Gurugram, Haryana, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Preliminary reports quoting investigators suggest that the husband may have killed his wife before taking his own life.

The deceased were identified as Mohammed Aslam, 30, a native of Pullavoor near Koduvally in Kozhikode district, and his wife Farhana, 28, from Nediyiruppu near Kondotty in Malappuram district.

Their bodies were found the previous day at their flat in M3M Marina Society in Sector 68, Gurugram. Aslam, who had previously worked in Bengaluru, had moved to Gurugram with Farhana a few months ago. He was employed by a private company in the city.

According to reports citing Gurugram police, investigators suspect that Farhana was strangled and that Aslam subsequently died by suicide. However, the precise cause of both deaths and the sequence of events have yet to be established.

Badshahpur police said further clarity would emerge only after the postmortem examinations. Details about the circumstances leading to the deaths were not immediately available, and the preliminary account remains subject to the findings of the investigation.

The bodies were shifted to a mortuary in Delhi’s Sadar Bazar for postmortem examinations, according to the information available. Relatives have reached Delhi, and the bodies are expected to be handed over to them after the necessary procedures are completed.

Aslam was the son of Narakassery Mohammed Baqhavi and Nafees. He is survived by his siblings, Uwais and Ramla.

Farhana was the daughter of Abdurahman and the late Jameela. Her siblings are Fousiya and Faisal.

The couple’s deaths come just months after their move from Bengaluru to Gurugram. Police have indicated that the postmortem findings will be crucial to determining the causes of death and providing a clearer account of what happened inside the couple’s apartment.
