Lucknow/Agra, 16 Oct (HS): State Higher Education Minister

in Agra regarding the successful and effective conduct of the national-level
Bharat Buddhiks 2.0 examination based on the Indian Knowledge
Tradition (IKS). The meeting was attended by vice-chancellors and registrars of
all state and private universities, principals of government and non-government
aided colleges, and senior officials of the Higher Education Department.
During the departmental review, the Higher Education
Minister stated that Bharat Intellectuals 2.0 is a landmark
academic initiative for higher education institutions, aligned with the vision
of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). This program integrates Indian
knowledge systems into the mainstream of modern higher education through
authoritative publications prepared by experts and coordinated examinations. He
stated that the primary objective of this initiative is to promote
interdisciplinary and research-oriented education, familiarizing students with
India's rich contributions to the arts, sciences, commerce, philosophy,
culture, and innovation, and fostering academic excellence along with cultural
understanding.
The Higher Education Minister directed that for the smooth
implementation of this massive program, all state and private universities, as
well as government and non-government aided colleges in the state, will serve
as nodal centers. Each institution will designate a nodal
officer at its own level. Each nodal officer will be responsible for
ensuring the registration of at least 200 students from their institution on
the portal. The deadline for registration for the examination has been set as
October 31, 2026.
This national examination will be conducted across the state
on November 21, 2026, with a registration fee of Rs. 100 per student. Regular
students studying at the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) levels in
arts, science, and social sciences will be eligible to participate. This 2-hour
exam will be conducted offline in both Hindi and English. The question paper
will include 60 optional questions from the relevant subject, 20 general
questions (compulsory for all) related to the Indian knowledge tradition, and 1
descriptive question of 250 words. For exam preparation, the institute has
published a series of 21 reference books, available in Hindi, English, and 11
regional languages.
