The inspection began at Bharat Darshan Park, where Khirwar was briefed on its key features and development. Western Zone Deputy Commissioner Colonel Vinod Attri informed him that the attractive park, spread across 8.5 acres, showcases replicas of famous monuments from different states of India, constructed using approximately 450 tonnes of scrap material.
The park was inaugurated on December 25, 2021.
Khirwar suggested that approximately 20 acres of land at the Okhla landfill site should be developed into a beautiful, themed park along the lines of Bharat Darshan Park.
Review of Air Quality Monitoring and Pollution-Control Measures
During the inspection, Khirwar sought details from Western Zone Deputy Commissioner Colonel Vinod Attri regarding air quality monitoring, the identification of major pollution sources and measures being taken to control them. He also inspected the puzzle parking facility.
