Guwahati, 15 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurated the 101st Ginger Hotel near Guwahati airport, marking another step towards developing the area into an ‘Aerocity’ with quality accommodation facilities for travellers.

Sharing the information in a post on social media platform X, Sarma said the new hotel was part of the state government's efforts to develop the Aerocity as a hub offering quality accommodation.

“It is a pleasure to inaugurate the 101st Ginger Hotel in Guwahati. This is part of our efforts to develop the Aerocity as a destination offering quality accommodation,” the Chief Minister said.

He described the opening as an important milestone in expanding access to comfortable and affordable lodging facilities and extended his best wishes to the hotel team for its future endeavours.

The new hotel is expected to provide additional accommodation options for air passengers, tourists and other visitors travelling to Guwahati. Its location near the airport is likely to make it a convenient choice for travellers seeking comfortable accommodation while visiting Assam.

The inauguration comes amid efforts to strengthen Guwahati's hospitality infrastructure and expand accommodation facilities around the airport. The proposed development of the Aerocity is expected to support the city's growing role as a gateway to Assam and other northeastern states.---------
