Bhubaneswar, 15 October (H.S.): Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday laid the foundation stone for 144 residential quarters for officers and staff of Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.
The project comprises 96 E-type quarters in four blocks and 48 F-type quarters in two blocks. The Stilt+6 buildings will be constructed on a turnkey basis, with completion targeted for May 2028.
The initiative reflects the Governor’s emphasis on staff welfare and the need to provide adequate residential facilities to officers and employees serving at Lok Bhavan. The new quarters are expected to address the long-standing shortage of accommodation, improve living conditions and create a more conducive environment for efficient administration.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor Dr Roopa Roshan Sahoo, In-charge Chief Engineer (Buildings) Priyabrata Samantra, Chief Construction Engineer, Central (R&B) Circle, Bhubaneswar, Manoj Kumar Mahanand, Superintending Engineer Arun Amitav Pradhan and senior Lok Bhavan officials were present on the occasion.
