Istanbul, 14 October (H.S.): Barcelona registered their second consecutive victory in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, defeating Galatasaray 4-1 thanks to an outstanding performance from star player Lamine Yamal.
In the match played at Rams Park in Istanbul on Tuesday, Barcelona produced an impressive comeback after falling behind by a goal. Yamal played a decisive role in the victory, providing two assists to help his team secure a convincing win.
With this victory, Barcelona moved to the top of the standings alongside Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon.
All three teams have won both of their matches so far. Meanwhile, Turkish giants Galatasaray remain in the lower reaches of the table without a point.
Barcelona dominated possession and launched several attacks during the opening stages of the match, but it was Galatasaray who broke the deadlock. A shot from Russian player Aleksei Batrakov deflected off Joao Cancelo and changed direction before finding the back of the net, giving the home side the lead.
Just before half-time, Cancelo converted a pass from Dani Olmo to bring Barcelona level. The two teams went into the interval locked at 1-1.
Yamal gave Barcelona’s attack a new dimension in the second half. He delivered an excellent pass to Fermin Lopez, who found the net to put Barcelona ahead 2-1.
Just three minutes later, Yamal showcased his exceptional skill in tight spaces, beating Eren Elmali with a series of deft movements before setting up Gordon, who finished clinically to extend Barcelona’s lead to 3-1.
The young Spanish star then provided another assist for Karim Adeyemi, helping Barcelona score their fourth goal and tighten their grip on the contest. Barcelona ultimately secured a commanding 4-1 victory.
With their second consecutive win, Barcelona have maintained an impressive start to their Champions League campaign. They are level at the top of the standings with Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon. Galatasaray, on the other hand, have suffered defeats in both of their opening matches and will now look to improve their position in the table.
