Swen App Named Official Broadcaster of the World Armwrestling and Para Armwrestling Championships

New Delhi, 14 October (H.S.): The 47th World Armwrestling Championships and the 28th World Para Armwrestling Championships, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from October 29 to November 7, will be streamed live on the Swen app. Both championships will take place at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in the national capital, with viewers able to watch the competitions live throughout the 10-day event.

The streaming partnership was announced by Preeti Jhangiani, president of the People's Armwrestling Federation of India (PAFI) and vice-president of the Asian Armwrestling Federation, along with Praveen Dabas, co-founder of the Pro Panja League. The agreement will enable audiences in India and across the world to watch the championship bouts live.

More Than 1,700 Participants Expected from Over 60 Countries

The People's Armwrestling Federation of India will host the championships under the aegis of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF). More than 1,700 athletes, officials and supporters from over 60 countries are expected to participate in or attend the event, making it one of the major international gatherings in the sport of armwrestling.

Swen will provide live coverage of both the able-bodied and para categories, beginning with the preliminary qualifying rounds and continuing through the finals and medal ceremonies. Viewers will be able to follow the competitions throughout the event via the Swen app.

Swen has previously streamed several armwrestling events, including the Poonawalla Gold edition of the Pro Panja League, the European Armwrestling Championships and the Pro Panja League trials held in Delhi. The platform has also provided international coverage of the Pro Panja Mega Matches in Mizoram and Armatura 13, held in Russia.

India Won 176 Medals at the Previous Asian Championships

The World Championships are being held at a time when armwrestling is gaining momentum in India. The same venue hosted the Asian Armwrestling and Para Armwrestling Championships in 2025, where India secured 176 medals and finished second in the overall medal standings.

Preeti Jhangiani and Praveen Dabas Welcome the Partnership

Preeti Jhangiani said hosting the World Championships in India was a significant milestone for everyone who had believed in the sport and contributed to its development.

She said the partnership with Swen would extend the reach of the event beyond the competition venue, allowing fans in India and around the world to witness every bout, comeback and medal-winning performance as it happened.

Jhangiani also emphasised that the partnership would provide para-athletes with the global visibility they deserved. She noted that greater exposure was essential to transforming a sporting passion into a viable professional career.

Praveen Dabas said the Pro Panja League had demonstrated how quickly audiences could connect with armwrestling when given the opportunity to watch it.

Describing the sport as fast-paced and exciting, he noted that some contests could be decided within seconds. He said Swen would help bring the world's leading armwrestlers to a wider audience while giving a new generation of Indian fans an opportunity to discover the sport.

Dabas added that the organisers hoped to ensure that viewers attracted to armwrestling during the two-week championship would remain engaged with the sport long after the event concluded.
