Lucknow, 14 Oct (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath hosted a magnificent ceremony at Lucknow's Lok Bhawan Auditorium to
launch the Hindi edition of former President Ram Nath Kovind's memoirs. The
book, first authored in English as Triumph of the Indian Republic: My
Life, My Struggles (earlier launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in
New Delhi) has been translated into Hindi as Bharatiya Ganatantra Ki
Vijaygatha: Mera Jeevan, Mera Sangharsh
CM Yogi Adityanath greeted the former President and his wife, Savita Kovind,
emphasizing that Uttar Pradesh is not only Shri Ram Nath Kovind's birthplace
but also the home of his great commitment and public service.
“In the dignified presence of the Honorable Former President
Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, at the event organized in Lucknow for the release of
his autobiography 'The Epic Victory of the Indian Republic: My Life, My
Struggle'...@ramnathkovind. Good books can be the most important guides for any
person. Having become Shiva, one should worship Shiva. One is truly great who
possesses the spirit of struggle, the tendency to grapple with even-odd
situations... Honorable former President Shri @ramnathkovind ji chose the path of struggle, hard work, and
manly effort,” UP CM stated in a post on X.
“Honorable former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, while
serving in India's highest constitutional office, has left an indelible mark of
respect and reverence in the heart of every Indian. Today, in Lucknow, the
launch of his autobiography 'The Epic of the Indian Republic: My Life, My
Struggle'—based on his life struggles—took place in his dignified presence. Heartfelt
congratulations and thanks to Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji,” he remarked in another
post on X.
In his speech,
CM Yogi highlighted that the life of
the former President exemplifies
resilience. He remarked that Shri Ram
Nath Kovind did not allow early
difficulties or shortages to serve as a barrier, but rather opted for
the route of diligent effort (purusharth) to confront the
challenges in front of him.
CM Yogi recounted lesser-known stories
illustrating the former President's strong ties to his hometown in Kanpur Dehat. He commended how Shri Ram Nath Kovind stays in touch with
his old friends—like local tea vendors
and shop owners—even after serving in the nation's
top constitutional role.
In his address, former President Ram Nath Kovind remarked, “After
the government was formed in 2017 under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath ji,
the works of development in the state, law and order, and good governance have
gained a new energy: In the BJP, the principle of 'Nation First' is truly
exemplified. Emphasis is placed on the inclusive development of the country,
rising above social distortions such as dynastic politics, nepotism, casteism,
and regionalism.”
“In the 'New India', crores of people have been provided
with roofs over their heads.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while working
together, the Yogi and Modi governments have collectively ensured that
countless poor families not only receive homes but also the sense of dignity
and security,” he added.
Released by Rupa
Publications, the memoir provides an intimate glimpse into Shri Ram Nath Kovind's life story
from a modest village to the
Rashtrapati Bhavan. It chronicles his experiences as a Rajya Sabha member, the Governor of Bihar, and
his time as the 14th President
of India.
