Lucknow, 13 Oct (HS): During the Sharadiya Navratri
festival, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underlined that women's
safety, dignity, and self-reliance are important priorities for his
administration. To emphasize the importance of feminine strength in a
flourishing society, the state government has connected many milestones and
welfare measures with its fundamental objective. Programs like as the
Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana (which supports girls' education and health)
and the Lokmata Ahilyabai Matri Shakti Yatra (which provides free public
transportation to senior women) underscore the state's full lifecycle approach
to female dignity. The administration continues to repeat the ageless notion, “where
women are honored, the divine lives,” tying modern governance directly to
cultural respect.
In a post on X, he mentioned, “The divine form of Mother
Chandraghanta, as a symbol of the radiance, dignity, and indomitable courage of
Nari Shakti, conveys to us the message that the safety, honor, and self-respect
of women form the foundation of an empowered and prosperous society. Embracing
this very spirit, under the guidance of the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji, the state’s double-engine
government is continuously setting new benchmarks for women’s empowerment
through good governance. Before 2017, the chaos that had engulfed the state had
cast a shadow over the safety and dignity of women. Instead of empowering
mothers and sisters, the main objective of those in power was to empower their
own families.”
“Today, however, from Beti Bachao Beti Padhao safeguarding
the existence of daughters and raising awareness about education, to the Chief
Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana providing support for their bright future, the
Chief Minister Collective Marriage Scheme giving marriage a dignified
foundation, the Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana offering support for
motherhood, Ujjwala freeing from smoke, Izzat Ghar protecting dignity, Gharauni
securing property rights, free lifetime bus travel for women over 60 years of
age, and social security through old-age pensions—from all these initiatives,
every effort of the double-engine government is dedicated to the honor,
self-respect, and dignified life of women. Jai Mata Ki,” he added.
