New Delhi, 13 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared a Sanskrit verse, or Subhashitam, praising the divine power, infinite valour and benevolence of the Goddess. On the third day of Navratri, he also offered prayers to Maa Chandraghanta, who is worshipped as the embodiment of courage, peace and divine strength.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister shared the following Sanskrit verse:

“त्वं वैष्णवी शक्तिरनन्तवीर्य विश्वस्य बीजं परमासि माया। सम्मोहितं देवि समस्तमेतत्त्वं वै प्रसन्ना भुवि मुक्तिहेतुः॥”

The verse praises the Goddess as the divine Vaishnavi Shakti, endowed with infinite strength and valour, and describes her as the supreme source of the universe. It conveys that the entire world is under her divine influence and that, when she is pleased, she becomes the source of liberation for all beings on Earth.

Extending his greetings on the occasion, PM Modi said, “On Navratri, I offer my heartfelt salutations to Maa Chandraghanta, the Goddess of courage, peace and divine power. May her blessings bring well-being to everyone. I pray that everyone's life may always be enriched with happiness, good fortune and success.”

The Prime Minister's message highlighted the spiritual significance of Navratri and the enduring devotion to the Goddess. The festival is celebrated across India with prayers, rituals and devotional offerings dedicated to the various forms of Goddess Durga.
