Gorakhpur, 12 Oct (HS): In a program organized in Gorakhpur

district for the transfer of agricultural input subsidy amount of Rs. 493 crore

through DBT to more than 9 lakh farmers of the state affected by crop damage

due to floods/excessive rainfall/hailstorms and cyclones, UP CM said, “Congress

has become synonymous with anarchy. It has become eager to create an atmosphere

of instability against democracy, against the sentiments of the country's

people, and against elected governments.”

“Today, the double engine government is providing

compensation to its farmer benefactors from the disaster relief fund for crop,

house, and livestock damage within just 8 to 10 days. We have already stated

that for any damage to roads or anything else caused by disasters, excess

rainfall, or cyclones, there is no shortage of funds. Spend as much money as is

needed, we will provide the money. During the Hudhud cyclone in the year 2014,

out of Rs. 3,200 crore, only Rs. 800 crore could reach the farmers, the rest

was pocketed by the suppliers. This is the farmers' curse, which has now sunk

them today,” UP CM remarked.

“In the SP government, there was no electricity, only the

bill would come. Now, the bill does not come for the food provider farmer, but

rather electricity comes,” he added.

“Due to crop damage, livestock loss, and house damage caused

by floods/excessive rainfall/hailstorms and cyclones, an amount of Rs. 493

crore as compensation has been transferred today via DBT from Gorakhpur into

the accounts of more than 9 lakh affected farmer beneficiaries of the state

under the State Disaster Response Fund. Instructions have also been issued to

provide Rs. 4 lakh in assistance to the dependents of the deceased in cases of

loss of life due to natural disasters. The state government stands with every

affected family. We are fully committed to extending every possible support to

them,” UP CM stated in a post on X.

Earlier, he posted on X, “Today, more than 9 lakh farmers

affected by crop damage due to floods, heavy rainfall, hailstorms, and cyclones

in Uttar Pradesh will receive an agricultural input subsidy amount of Rs. 493

crore through DBT from the penance site of Shivavatar Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath

Ji in Gorakhpur. This assistance will provide relief to our food provider

farmer brothers, help in arranging agricultural investments, and give a fresh

momentum to farming. It is the resolve of the double-engine government that in

times of crisis, the food provider farmer receives support, his farming is

restored, and prosperity returns to the fields.”
