Mumbai, 12 October (H.S.): The upcoming romantic comedy ‘Nakhrewaalii’, starring newcomers Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava, is set to hit theatres on October 30, 2026. Backed by filmmaker Aanand L Rai, the film promises a refreshing take on love, relationships and gender roles, blending romance and humour with a contemporary perspective on social expectations.

The film’s newly unveiled poster has drawn attention with the tagline, “Kabhi Kabhi Pyaar Mein Majnu Ko Bhi Laila Banna Padta Hai” (Sometimes, even Majnu has to become Laila in love). The line hints at a playful reversal of conventional romantic roles, suggesting that love may require people to step beyond traditional expectations and reconsider who takes the lead in a relationship.

Directed by Rahul Shanklya and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film has been described by its makers as a ‘womantic comedy’, combining romance, humour and emotional depth. Through its light-hearted narrative, the film aims to explore relationships, gender equality, women’s safety and deep-rooted social norms in an engaging and accessible manner.

The film is produced by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, the banner led by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. The project introduces Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava in the lead roles, bringing fresh faces to a story built around unconventional romantic dynamics.

The makers are expected to release the trailer soon, offering audiences a closer look at the characters, storyline and the film’s distinctive approach to love and relationships. With its October 30 theatrical release confirmed, ‘Nakhrewaalii’ aims to combine entertainment with a fresh perspective on changing social attitudes and expectations in modern relationships.
