On the first day of Navratri, the makers of ‘Ramayana’ announced the release date of the film’s first instalment, unveiling a new poster that offers a glimpse into its grand cinematic universe. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on November 5. The poster features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and Yash as Ravana. Accompanying the poster, the makers shared the message: “The beginning of the era of Rama.” Advance bookings for the film will open on the occasion of Dussehra.
The newly unveiled poster showcases the principal characters in their elaborate, larger-than-life appearances, offering a glimpse into the scale and visual grandeur of the film. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey, Yash makes a striking appearance as Ravana. The elaborate costumes and meticulously crafted visuals hint at the epic scale of the production.
The announcement of the release date during Navratri carries particular significance, as the festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil. By choosing this auspicious occasion to reveal the film’s release plans, the makers have sought to mark the beginning of its cinematic journey and heighten anticipation among audiences.
Conceived as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’, the film also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The project is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
‘Ramayana’ will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film will also be presented in the IMAX format, offering audiences an expansive theatrical experience.
The second instalment is planned for release during Diwali 2027. Based on the revered Indian epic ‘Ramayana’, the ambitious cinematic project is expected to bring the timeless story of Lord Rama to the big screen on a grand scale, combining its enduring cultural significance with an expansive visual presentation.
