
New Delhi, 11 October (H.S.): The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced a major employment opportunity for young aspirants seeking government jobs in Indian Railways. Under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC–Graduate) recruitment drive, the boards have issued a Centralised Employment Notification for 3,548 graduate-level vacancies. The online application process began on October 8 and will remain open until November 6, 2026.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the recruitment drive will fill vacancies across four major categories covering train operations, commercial services, accounting and administration. These include 2,750 posts of Goods Train Manager, 371 posts of Senior Clerk-cum-Typist, 300 posts of Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist, and 127 posts of Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor.
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to allowances and service benefits applicable under the Seventh Central Pay Commission. The last date for submitting online applications is November 6, while the deadline for payment of the application fee is November 8. Candidates will be able to make corrections or modifications to their application forms between November 9 and November 18.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification recognised by a university. The prescribed age limit is 18 to 33 years, with upper-age relaxation available to candidates belonging to reserved categories in accordance with applicable rules.
The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages and will be based on merit. It will include a first-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-1), a second-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-2), document verification and a medical examination. Applicable exemptions from the typing skill test and necessary facilities for candidates with disabilities will also be provided in accordance with the recruitment rules.
