New Delhi, 11 October (H.S.): Following their release from preventive police custody in Delhi, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke met senior advocate Kapil Sibal on Sunday. After the meeting, Dipke said that his grandmother had passed away and that he was returning to his home in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the other two released leaders, Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, are scheduled to address a press conference in the afternoon to explain the sequence of events.

After his release, Saurav Das also said that the press conference would outline the party’s next course of action.

Commenting on the developments, Dipke said, “The whole world has seen what happened. The entire city of Delhi was brought to a standstill to ensure the security of Gyanesh Kumar. What is so special about Gyanesh Kumar that you inconvenienced millions of people yesterday in order to protect him?”

CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were taken into preventive custody from inside an aircraft at Delhi airport on Saturday. On Sunday, they were produced before the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) Court, which ordered their release upon the execution of a bond of Rs 50,000.

According to the Delhi Police, Dipke, Ranka and Das were arrested on Saturday, October 10, under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) as a preventive measure. After completing the requisite legal formalities, they were produced before the SEM Court at Delhi Cantonment on Sunday, October 11.

The police said the three leaders were released by the SEM Court after furnishing a bail bond of Rs 50,000 to ensure the maintenance of peace and good behaviour for a period of one year.
