Prayagraj, 10 Oct (HS): Shobha Yatra of Karna horse was

taken out with great pomp from Pathar Chatti. First of all, the worship and

Aarti of Karna horse was done with Vedic rituals and chanting of mantras. The

Aarti was performed by Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani. The Shobha Yatra

starts with the chanting of Jai Shri Ram. Dozens of DJs and attractive tableaux

were enthralling the devotees with their performance. Devotees on both sides of

the road were taking darshan with folded hands and showering flowers.

Karna horse is considered to be the messenger of Lord Shri

Ram. There is a story that Luv-Kush had tied the horse of Ram's Ashramedha

Yagya in Maharishi Valmiki's ashram and in the memory of that this tradition is

continuing. The hymns playing on the DJ were Ram na chale Hanuman ke bina Hanuman

na chale Ram ke bina, the devotees were immersed in devotion and were dancing.

The devotees performed aarti of Karna horse, offered garlands and welcomed the

committee members.

The procession started from Ram Mandir Chameli Devi

Dharamshala situated on Hewett Road and ended at Ramlila Maidan via Kotha Parcha

Bahadurganj Loknath Thatheri Bazaar Ghantaghar Johnson Ganj Badshahi Mandi. ACP

Nikita Srivastava of Kotwali area herself was in charge of the security

arrangements. Kotwali in-charge Sudhir Kumar Singh was busy the whole time in

ensuring the safe completion of the procession. Vijay Kumar Singh, Ramesh Kumar

Jaiswal, Shesh Narayan Dwivedi, Dharmendra Kumar Bhaiya Ji, Satish Kesarwani,

Dinesh Sarafa, Vijay Vaishya, Gopal Ji, Durga Prasad Gupta, Uma Lal Pandey,

Rajesh Vaishya, Rajesh Singh, Mahendra Kumar Gupta, Rakesh Malhotra, Mohammad

Aamir, Akram Shagun MLAs, dozens of councillors and social workers participated

in the procession.
