Bhubaneswar, 10 October (H.S.): Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, accompanied by First Lady Jayashree Kambhampati, visited Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur on Saturday on the occasion of Mahalaya and offered prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Odisha.

On Mahalaya, Maa Samaleswari is adorned in the sacred Dhabalamukhi Besha, drawing thousands of devotees to the shrine, regarded as the spiritual centre of western Odisha.

Earlier in the day, the Governor visited Hirakud Dam and saw the massive structure built across the Mahanadi river and its sprawling reservoir.
